Students in Chelsea Young's class at Alliance Elementary School took over the classroom for the final weeks of school! Each child was asked to give a ten minute mini lesson on something they are an "expert" at! Topics included things like how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, how to plant a seed, how to create a greeting card and how to braid! They students had fun leading the class! #RepthatA

The 3rd graders from Alliance Elementary School celebrated the end of the school year with a party at Butler Rodman! They spent the day playing games, running around and having fun in the sun! ☀️ #RepthatA

Alissa Batdorff's class at Alliance Elementary School has been writing back and forth to penpals in Alicante, Spain! Kamryn Bondoni, a 2021 graduate of Alliance High School, is currently teaching English abroad in Spain as part of her study abroad program through Mount Union. The students in both classes have been exchanging letters since February! Mrs. Batdorff's class spent time learning about Spain and their culture through pictures, maps, videos, snacks and virtual tours sent by Kamryn. They've even learned a little bit of Spanish! The class truly enjoyed learning more about and exploring another country through other students' eyes! #RepthatA

The students participating in this year's Girls on the Run took part in a practice 5k to prepare for the one they will run this weekend! They ran 11 laps around Alliance Elementary School and celebrated each lap by adding a sticker to their chart and running through bubbles. Great job, Girls! We can't wait to hear how you do tomorrow! 🏃‍♀️ #RepthatA

The students in Sam Young's class at Alliance Elementary School planted a variety of seeds, including tomatoes, peas and flowers! 🪴 They have been watching them grow and learning how to take care of them. Once they're big enough, the students will be able to take them home and plant them so they have their very own gardens! 🌱 #RepthatA

Emily Grindley was recently recognized by the YWCA with the Women in Leadership Service award! Here at Alliance City Schools, one of our core values is being a Caring Citizen. Mrs. Grindley, a teacher at Alliance Elementary School, exhibits the characteristics of being a Caring Citizen through her work as a coach for Alliance High School and her community involvement. We are lucky to have her as part if the Aviator team! Congratulations on this well-deserved award! 🥳 #RepthatA

The 2nd graders traveled to Beech Creek Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve last week! They learned about plants and animals and had the opportunity to explore. What a fun field trip for our young Aviators! 🌿🐿 #RepthatA

Janet Dawson's 2nd grade reading class at Alliance Elementary School did reader's theater last week to prepare for the eclipse! Students acted as newscasters reading a news segment about the event. Great job! #RepthatA
