Adalynn Runner was a recent Star of the Week in Billie Muller's 2nd grade class. She invited her dad, Josh Runner, to talk to the students about his career. Mr. Runner is an elementary school principal! He told the students his job was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. He likes getting to help students and he especially likes welcoming them to school every morning.

Our Aviator students love learning about different careers they could have when they grow up! #RepthatA

Stay safe, Aviators! #RepthatA

Hello again Aviators, With weather and overall conditions continuing to pose safety concerns, Alliance City Schools will be closed again tomorrow, Jan. 29. The cold temperatures, along with sidewalks and bus stops that remain buried under snow, are the main factors in our decision to close for one more day. We are hopeful to return to school on Friday, but forecasts seem to be changing by the minute now, so it’s hard to predict at the moment. If we are able to return on Friday, we know that some conditions will still be challenging. If you are able, we encourage families to begin planning and preparing by ensuring your child has a safe path to bus stops and is dressed in weather-appropriate clothing to stay warm during their morning commute. We will let you know by tomorrow at 3 pm whether or not we will be in school on Friday. As always, if you have weather-related concerns about your child attending school, you may call them off by calling the main office of their school. Athletic updates Tonight’s (Jan. 28) middle school boys and girls basketball games have been cancelled Tonight's (Jan. 28) varsity girls basketball game at Marlington has been cancelled, the game will be made up on Monday, Feb. 9 Tomorrow's (Jan. 29) middle school and Varsity girls and boys wrestling dual with Minerva has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12 Tomorrow's (Jan. 29) swim meet at Massillon is canceled with rescheduled date TBD Practices are only permitted for winter varsity sports and various pre-arranged music/arts/drama programs. Coaches/advisors will communicate with students and families. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these decisions. We have a lot of winter left, so keep your hats and gloves nearby! Rob Gress Superintendent of Schools
Billie Muller's 2nd grade class had a visit from Chad Morris, the Director of Technology for Alliance City Schools. His daughter, Finley Morris was selected as the Star 🌟 of the Week, and she invited her dad in to talk about his career.

Mr. Morris taught the students about his many responsibilities around the district and showed them some of the parts inside a laptop. He reminded them how to take care of their school chromebooks and then passed out some cool ACS swag! #RepthatA

✈ Abby (Moore) Aljancic ✈
Position: Intervention Specialist
School: Alliance Elementary School
Graduation Year: 2018
Years at ACS: 4

Favorite Memory:
"My favorite memory from attending ACS was participating in high school girls bowling and band!"

Influential Staff Member:
"A teacher who positively influenced me was Mrs. Oesch. She was one of the most caring and loving teachers I had. Not only did she influence me in school but I was also given the opportunity to complete my student teaching with her, where she continued to help me grow and become a teacher that can make a difference in ACS."

Choosing to work for ACS:
"I chose to come back to ACS because it felt like home. Teaching comes with challenges but knowing that I have my community there supporting me makes each day better."

Importance of giving back:
"It is important to serve the school and community I was raised in because, without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Alliance provided me with many resources and opportunities. I want to make a difference in these students’ lives at a young age, just as my elementary teachers did for me."

Mrs. Aljancic’s journey comes full circle as she now helps create the same positive experiences for students that once inspired her. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

Winter words are in the air! ❄️ The students in Chelsea Young’s 3rd grade class created acrostic poems inspired by the sights, sounds, and feelings of winter. This project encouraged creativity, careful word choice, and a love of language. It’s such a joy to see their ideas come to life! #RepthatA
