The third grade started their school week working on team building activities. One of the activities was "Saving Fred". Fred is a gummy worm who was knocked off his boat. The students had to get a gummy worm through a gummy lifesaver using only paper clips. The students had fun working together trying to figure out how to complete this challenge. It was great to see the children's faces when they realized how to get the gummy worm into the lifesaver through teamwork. These team building activities will continue throughout the year in all subjects displaying the design qualities of affiliation and affirmation! These activities give our students the opportunity to learn to listen to each other, share ideas, and work cooperatively.

Students created businesses ranging from Buffalo Wild Wings and McDonalds to the Rodman Public Library and Silver Park. The safety of our students is our number one priority. As you may know, there was a bus incident with bus 15 serving Rockhill Elementary School students yesterday afternoon. Any situation regarding student safety is taken very seriously. As it appears right now, the bus made a sudden stop. We are currently reviewing the bus’ GPS data and internal video footage to better understand the incident. The bus driver is currently on paid leave while the investigation is being conducted. If we find that there was any improper conduct by the driver, the district will discipline in accordance with our employee code of conduct. All children are presently back in the classroom or at home. We will continue to provide updates as necessary. Again, the safety of our students is our number one priority.
