Stark Parks brought their program Animal Traits to our kindergarten students as part of our Fur and Feathers study. The program used live animals, puppets, and other natural elements to explain the story of nature's living things. Students were asked to identify the traits (wings, feathers, fur, legs etc.) that help living things survive in their ecosystem and get things they need to live; food, water, shelter, and air. The children were especially fond of Ruby, a red-eared slider (turtle), Wesley, the opossum, and Mallory the mallard duck, all living! Miss Amanda shared how they care for Ruby, Wesley, and Mallory.
